What the finished toy looks like
A black bird with a yellow beak and a yellow-rimmed eye. Its wing is covered in colourful overlapping feathers in green, yellow, orange, pink, purple and turquoise. Legs made of wire or string give it a lifelike look.
What you'll need
- Felt sheets in the colours shown in the photo (fabric, craft foam or coloured paper work too)
- Embroidery thread and a needle, or fabric glue if you'd rather not sew
- Small, sharp scissors
- A little toy stuffing for a softer finish (optional)
- Beads or buttons for details, if you like
How the templates work
The templates for Felt Bird Black are printed in Volume 1, ready to cut out of the book. There is no need for a photocopier or printer. Every pattern is printed twice, so you can cut one set of templates and keep the other for later, or fix a mistake without starting over.
